Paul Giamatti to Play Larry in The Three Stooges

Following Sean Penn's decision to drop out of The Three Stooges movie, the film has found a suitable replacement.

Paul Giamatti will take over as Larry, with Benicio Del Toro still attached to play Moe. However, Jim Carrey will not be playing Curly, as was previously reported.

MGM is hoping for a 2010 release for the big screen adaptation. It will be written and directed by the Farrelly Brothers.

Call us crazy, but Giamatti appears to be an ideal Larry...
